Remember

Remember

In the winter

your hair gets darker

with the brittle morning hours,

empty and blacker

than coffee

blacker than coffee

black like

congealing thoughts

sharpened by the cold, but

swallowed by the clock

tick

tock

A crack divides

the filmy glass

but the dust won’t set alight.

The city snow turns grey by noon

like vapid skin

worn stretched out thin

over bones,

her bones

Breathe

Forget
